The Safe Place Permanent Safety Bed for Special Needs Children offers a secure, durable, and comfortable sleep environment for your loved one with special needs 3 years of age or over. Designed by a registered nurse who is also the father of a child with Angelman syndrome, this bed helps ensure a peaceful night’s sleep for the whole family.

Manufacturer Recommendation: Consult your physician for a child under the age of 3 or for use with individuals with low muscle tone.

Many individuals with special needs thrive in a secure, enclosed sleeping environment. This design effectively reduces sensory overstimulation and provides essential spatial boundaries, fostering a cozy, safe, and predictable sleep setting. For added security, the bed features zippered netting panel doors on both sides, each equipped with a safety locking mechanism accessible only from the outside.

The Safe Place Model Permanent Bed is registered with the FDA as a Class 1 Medical Grade Device. The bed has been inspected and certified by HQAA and Medicare and offers 360 degrees of protection from falling out of bed and eliminates the 7 zones of entrapment.

The Mattress: each bed includes a custom-fit, 8-inch thick, CertiPUR US Certified Memory Foam Mattress with a waterproof cover. Designed for safety, 7 inches of the mattress sit below the frame's edge to prevent users from pulling it up, thereby eliminating entrapment risks.

The Frame: is solid Maple hardwood, handcrafted by the Amish in Ohio, offering exceptional durability and strength. Each frame undergoes rigorous quality checks before packaging. For enhanced safety and comfort, all posts and edges are padded. Choose between a Brown-Stained Frame with Black Padding or a White Painted Frame with White Padding.

The Cover: the bed's cover is crafted from 600D fabric, UL-tested for safety and quality, and is flame-retardant. This heavy-duty fabric completely encloses the bed, preventing access to the wooden frame from inside. Designed to move slightly on the rails and corners without loosening, the cover absorbs the force of body movement, extending its lifespan. It's available in a variety of colors and designs.

The Netting Doors and Windows: two long, netting zippered doors fold up providing easy entry and exit, along with ample caregiver access. For optimal airflow, there are two large netting windows at the bed's ends and one large netting window on top. An optional feeding tube access can be placed in the lower middle portion of the door.

The Zippers: heavy-duty, durable zippers are not accessible from inside the bed. All zippers lock from the outside for safety.
